Introduction to Health Insurance - 3 Credits
This course is intended for specialists and licensed insurance professionals, particularly those who hold disability, life and health risks, group administrators, Coordinators of Benefits among others. Its main objective is to discuss the importance of health insurance. Analyze its main components, definitions and changes according to the demands of the legal transition and modern times.
General objectives:
- Discuss the importance of health insurance
- Know and manage the meaning of technical and modern terms referring to health policies.
- Know changes in the subscription of medical insurance.
- Know the particularities of the medical plan policies that maintain the status of "Grandfathered"
- To be able to identify differences and similarities between the Granfathered medical plan policies and the policies tempered to the requirements of the Affordable Care Act.
- Know the rights of the insured.
- Understand the responsibilities of the insurance producer.
- Describe the importance of the subscription process (Classic Subscription and Field Subscription).
- Minimize Error & Omission situations
